MOSES AND AARON SPEAK TO PHARAOH
When Moses (Moshe) came back to Egypt after 40 years of exile in the
land of Midian, he went with his brother Aaron to Pharaoh with one message that
would later change the destiny of any descendant of Israel forever. It is a
message of deliverance from the Lord God Almighty. They went to Pharaoh and
said, “Thus says the Lord, God of Israel, Let My people go, that they may hold
a feast to Me in the wilderness” (Exodus, 5:1). Very simple and direct! I pray
that this same message will also change your life and destiny forever in the
mighty name of Jesus. Amen!
Beloved, the time for that Pharaoh holding you captive to let you go
has come. I can see some Pseudo-gods holding the people of God hostage BUT the
time for them to let go has come. I just want to let you know that your Moses
has appeared. You shall be free. Amen! It is not a matter of whether if he likes
to let you go or not. You will be released by Holy Ghost fire and force.
Your enemy, like pharaoh will not receive this message kindly. As
expected he threw a challenge to God. The sin of pride, disobedience and
refusal to acknowlegde the power and might of God sprang up in him immediately. He
forgot that pride goes before destruction. He declared, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to
let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go” (Exodus, 5:2). Every power and authority of
darkness and its human agents masquerading to be your god shall be destroyed by
their pride. God shall destroy them and you shall be free from their
stranglehold. Amen!
But Moses and Aaron persisted, they said “The God of the Hebrews has met with us; let us go, we
pray you, three days’ journey into the desert and sacrifice to the Lord our
God, lest He fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword,” (Exodus, 5:3).
THE TRICKS OF THE ENEMY
Your pharaoh will want to divert your attention
from your utmost desire. He wanted to divert the attention of Moses and Aaron from
the subject matter which is deliverance from slavery. He turned and said to
Moses and Aaron, “Why do you take the people from their jobs? Get to your burdens!” He will want to take your mind away from your
deliverance and cage you with his demonic burdens. This is a very powerful
strategy of the enemy. If your mind is arrested, the battle is won already. And
you will be left to rue your defeat if you are given the chance to relive your
defeat.
What did he do? He added more to the task
performed by the people since he believed that it was idleness that made them asked
for a ‘holiday’ to go pray and hold feast with the Lord. Pharoah believed this
heavier task would wear them down and break their spirit and make them abandon
their desire to go and serve the Lord. And so he instructed the taskmasters and
said, “Let heavier work be laid upon the men that they may labour at it and pay
no attention to lying words” (Exodus, 5:9).
Your Pharaoh may increase the attacks you are
receiving from him and his cohort when you demand for your release from bondage
and servitude. Remember he wants you to “Get back to your burdens” or rather his
burdens [loads, yokes, oppressions, troubles and repressions] on you. The attack
coming from him this time around will not be the usual occasional attack but
like a flood. You will see wickedness you have never seen before. The torment
and torture from the enemy may be redoubled. You may find yourselves in a more
evil situation than before. All these are done in a bid to weaken your faith
and trust in the Lord. Another motive behind this is to weaken unity existing
among brethren – your support base. Note when the children of Israel realised their
tasks were heavier than before they complained bitterly against Moses and
Aaron, and said to them, “The Lord look upon you and judge, because you have
made us a rotten stench to be detested by Pharaoh and his servants and have put
a sword in their hand to slay us” (Exodus, 5:21).
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
But no matter the challenges your pharaoh throws your
way, you must not listen to his antics. Look unto God from whence comes your
help. Moses was a man with such guts. His ears were wide open to God. His eyes
were fixed on God because he knew genuine help comes from God only. The bible said he turned to God and said, “O
Lord, why have You dealt evil to this people? Why did You ever send me? For
since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people,
neither have You delivered Your people at all” Exodus 5:22-23.
GOD’S FINAL WORD
Child of God let Yahweh answer your Pharaoh and any
doubt or murmuring you may be nursing as He did in the time of Moses.
Then the Lord said to
Moses, Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for [compelled] by a strong
hand he will [not only] let them go, but he will drive them out of his land
with a strong hand.2 And God said to Moses, I am the Lord.3 I
appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty [El-Shaddai], but
by My name the Lord [Yahweh—the redemptive name of God] I did not make Myself
known to them [in acts and great miracles] (Exodus, 6:1-3 AMP).
In our next post we
will look at how Yahweh, thrashes Pharaoh, his kingdom, his powers and rule to
redeem His people and what He is doing for you.
