Thursday: No Greater Love

Yesterday we looked at the last supper in detail. Jesus is the Passover lamb and His blood covers our lives against the judgement of God. When the children of Israel were in captivity,  He made a final display of His power and broke the back and strength of Egypt. The night He visited Egypt, He made a way of escape for His own possession (Israel). He ordered them to paint their doorposts with the blood of a sacrificial lamb. It was a picture of what Jesus would do years later, because the Father said, when I see the blood, I will pass over. 

What is it in your life that you believe is beyond redemption? God is saying to you, When I see the blood, I pass over you. I will not visit my wrath on you. Plead the blood of Jesus as your defense. Do you need forgiveness, plead the blood of Jesus. Do you need healing in your body, is your heart broken with sorrow. . .plead the blood.

" My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, Your will be done."

Friend, on this night 33 years of Ministry would culminate in the ultimate sacrifice. Our Saviour and LORD was well aware of the suffering and humiliation He would suffer  at the hands of His accusers. To whom much is given much is required. God gave us His best, Jesus.

Then an angel from heaven appeared and strengthen Him.

In the early hours of Friday morning our Jesus was to face the first of 3 trials, alone. The LORD knows all too well what it feels like to have friends turn their backs on you. He experienced it. His disciples has all deserted Him. Friend He carried that burden for you. He LOVES YOU. If you have not given Him your life I would implore you to. Say the salvation prayer (near the picture of praying hands). If you are a believer, strengthen your faith. THANK HIM FOR HIS LOVE FOR YOU. HIS SACRIFICE.

Just like Jesus was strengthened by the angel, JESUS himself will strengthen you. Have you lost a loved one, a job or the will to live? Call the name that is higher than any other name. The name of Jesus. JESUS! JESUS! JESUS! He is faithful. He sticks closer than any friend because HE KNOWS what it feels like to be alone, deserted, in anguish. He will never let you go.
