Psalm 46 Common

God is our mighty fortress, always ready to help in times of
trouble. And so, we won't be afraid! Let the earth tremble and the mountains
tumble into the deepest sea. Let the ocean roar and foam, and its raging waves
shake the mountains. A river and its streams bring joy to the city, which is the
sacred home of God Most High. God is in that city, and it won't be shaken. He
will help it at dawn. Nations rage! Kingdoms fall! But at the voice of God the
earth itself melts. The LORD All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our
fortress. Come! See the fearsome things the LORD has done on earth. God brings
wars to an end all over the world. He breaks the arrows, shatters the spears,
and burns the shields. Our God says, "Calm down, and learn that I am God!
All nations on earth will honour me." The LORD All-Powerful is with us.
The God of Jacob is our fortress.
Beloved, there are times in our life that we find ourselves
faced with grievous situations. In such times of uncertainty, with wars,
rumours of wars, earthquakes, conspiracies, terror attacks, famine, nuclear
disasters and tsunami’s to name a few; it is inevitable that we may start to
fear. The world we live in is so ruled by fear that the global markets reacted
sharply today to the FEAR of debt, and some major currencies reported record
devaluations. This is not the way to live. We chose to not fear but live in the
hope that we have a God who is willing and able to provide shelter, refuge and
strength.
The message from the LORD is, when it all becomes too much
for you to bear, be still before God, and you will get a revelation and
understanding of His sovereignty over all the ugliness in the world today. God
represents a state of calm in turmoil. In the bible He protects His children,
so as to strike fear into the enemy’s heart. He calls Himself the Man of War,
no foe can withstand Him. Why don’t you lean and trust in him today as you
prayerfully pray Psalm 46.
Confession
Heavenly Father, You are my God and my mighty fortress,
always ready to help my family and I, in times of trouble. And so, we won't be
afraid! Let the earth tremble and the mountains tumble into the deepest sea.
Let the ocean roar and foam, and its raging waves shake the mountains.
My family and I will
not be moved by its raging. Let your joy flow into my family. Let your river of
joy calm every raging storm in our lives and destiny. Father keep us safe in
this city from evil. Keep my family safe in the midst of terror, hurricanes, earthquakes,
war and death. Remain a safeguard for us in this city God, we will not be
shaken in Jesus name.
Help us Father, even against the nations that rage and cry
out for our harm! Protect us Father in the midst of falling and failing
governments.Protect us oh God from violence and bombing!
We call upon you Father for at Your voice the earth itself
melts. The LORD All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress.
Come! We acknowledge the fearsome things the LORD has done on earth.
Father God bring wars
to an end all over the world. Break the arrows, shatter spears, and burns the
shields of warmongers. Help my soul to
understand your voice as you say, "Calm down, and learn that I am God! All
nations on earth will honour me."
The LORD All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our fortress. In
Jesus name I pray amen.
