4. Repentance and Worship
They also used another 6 hours to confess and worship the Lord. They confessed their sins and sins of their fathers. It took such a long time because they were being specific about their sins and they were giving an account of the sins of their ancestors with a penitent heart before God Almighty. They were repenting with hearts full of sorrow. They were showing remorse and pledging never to commit those sins again.

4On the stairs of the Levites stood Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and they cried with a loud voice to the Lord their God.
5. Cry Aloud
The priests, pastors, elders, leaders, etc among them cried with a loud voice. This is because the life of any leader mirror’s the image of the people and the sins of any leader are usually visited on the people. So, they recognized that it was the sins of their leaders, kings, elders that directed God’s anger to them. The modern day Pastor, leader, church elder, and even husband at home should take a cue and learn from this. If things are not going well in the church, place of work and at home they should not start blaming anybody but should take the responsibility and go to God and cry to Him with a loud voice and a penitent heart for mercy. It should not be left with the congregants or wives and mothers alone.
6. Corporate Prayer
We must form a team like Nehemiah did and take it to God. The corporate prayer of agreement has a great advantage. The enemy cannot stand the cord of 2 or more persons because God is always in their midst. One can chase a thousand but two shall chase ten thousands.
