Jesus Christ is the Redemption Price

Since the first man, Adam sinned and polluted our spiritual and genetic link and relationship with God, God set a process of redemption in motion. God told satan, the architect of the fall of man, to his face that the seed of man he had caused to fall would “bruise and tread his head under foot and that he (satan) would lie in wait and bruise his heel.” The scripture says when the appropriate time for this prophecy to be fulfilled came God sent His Son Jesus Christ.
Gal 4:4-5 AMP
4But when the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born subject to [the regulations of] the Law, 5To purchase the freedom of (to ransom, to redeem, to atone for) those who were subject to the Law, that we might be adopted and have sonship conferred upon us [and be recognized as God's sons].

1 Timothy 2: AMP
6Who gave Himself as a ransom for all [people, a fact that was] attested to at the right and proper time.

What is ‘redemption’?
Redemption is simply the forgiveness of our sins, and restoration to a relationship with God. Redemption means deliverance, salvation, rescue, release, emancipation, liberation, recovery and the act or process of redeeming. On the other hand, redeem means to trade in, cash in, exchange, buy back, save by paying a ransom and freedom from the consequences of sin. According to Strong’s concordance; ‘redeem’ is a verb that is used in several ways in Hebrew. In some ways it is called “gâ ̓al” in reference to as a next of kin buying back a relative’s property - such as land, marrying his widow, etc. In other ways it is called “pâdâh” which means “to sever, i.e. ransom; which generally refers to words such as “release, preserve, ransom, rescue”. It may also be used as deliverance. In Greek, it is called “ĕxagŏrazō” or “lutrŏō” which means “to buy up”, i.e. ransom; which when used figuratively means to “rescue from loss”.

Numbers 18: AMP
15Everything that first opens the womb in all flesh, which they bring to the Lord, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be yours. Nevertheless the firstborn of man you shall surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts you shall redeem.

This was a picture of the redemption that would take place. God said this because all humans are conceived and born into iniquity because of the first Adam (Psalm 51:5); that is why the second Adam (Jesus) came as the redeemer and the firstborn of the new covenant. Remember the scripture tells us that the firstborn is set apart and holy unto the God.

Numbers 18: AMP
16And those that are to be redeemed of them, from a month old shall you redeem, according to your estimate [of their age], for the fixed price of five shekels in silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.

This scripture is an indication that redemption costs something. A price has to be paid. In relation to Jesus, Judas sold our Lord for a fixed price of 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. Secondly, Jesus paid the ultimate price...with His life.

Matthew 20:28 AMP
28Just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free].
So you see salvation is not free beloved.

Numbers 18: AMP
17....They [as the firstborn of clean beasts belong to God and] are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood upon the altar and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet and soothing odor to the Lord.

Beloved of God, the altar on Passover day was an old rugged cross. And blood was surely offered that day, that of Jesus.

Hebrews 9: AMP
12He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven], not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves [by which to make reconciliation between God and man], but His own blood, having found and secured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us).

We know that he was beaten and brutalised; we know that a crown of thorns was pushed into His head and it drew blood. A lot of blood was shed on that Passover over 2000 years ago for you and me. Jesus went into the heavenly temple of Almighty God as a High priest and sprinkled His blood on the altar of God as an everlasting covenant for our redemption. Because of that blood that was sprinkled, we were given an opportunity to be cleansed from the original sin and the curse of the law. And thus we too became inheritors of this salvation.

Galatians 3: AMP
13Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified).

Through his sacrifice, Jesus redeemed us and brought us into the kingdom of God, rescuing us from the kingdom of sin and darkness. He is the Redemption-Price paid on your behalf by God for your salvation and for your soul. God is not making any other demand therefore satan and his agents have no right or power to make any weighty demand or hold on to any other requirements. There is no other thing that could be given in exchange for your soul. Jesus Christ is the deserving substitute. He paid the full price. The only requirement for this grace-eternal is for you to embrace Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Colossians 1: AMP
13[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins.

He is the ransom given in exchange for your deliverance. In other words redemption is the platform for deliverance. Look at what, we who are the children of God have been saved from?
Job 33: AMP
24Then [God] is gracious to him and says, Deliver him from going down into the pit [of destruction]; I have found a ransom (a price of redemption, an atonement)!

When God sees you and me, He says deliver my children for I have found a ransom, Jesus Christ. Remember, prior there was none worthy to pay this price. Let us praise Jesus for He deserves our worship and thanksgiving.
Revelation 5: NLT
12 ...“Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered - to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing.”13 And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honour and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.”

Revelation 5: NLT
9 And they sang a new song with these words:“You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. And you have caused them to become a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth.”
