Promise of God cannot be annulled

Now the promises (covenants, agreements,) were decreed and made to Abraham and his Seed (his Offspring, his Heir). He, God does not say, ‘And to the seeds (descendants, heirs)’ as if referring to many persons, but, ‘And to your Seed (your Descendant, your Heir)’, obviously referring to one individual, Who is [none other than Christ] (the Messiah). This is my argument: The law which began 430 years after the covenant [concerning the coming Messiah], does not and cannot annul the covenant previously established (ratified) by God, so as to abolish the promise and make it void. For if the inheritance [of the promise depends on observing] the law [as these false teachers would like you to believe], it no longer [depends] on the promise: however God gave it to Abraham [as a free gift solely] by virtue of His promise (Gal 3:16-18).

Nothing can override God’s promise

The promise of God cannot be overridden by any circumstance or event. No power can annul the Promise of God. God Himself cannot rescind His promise. It is not that God has no power to cancel His promise. He has and He can but God is eternally bound by His promise. If He does, part of what made Him to be God will be at stake. God protects His name and honour so He cannot renege on His promise. He is not man that He should make a promise and fail to bring it to pass (Num 23:19).

Satan and his agents Can't

Again, no power can annul what God has promised you. Satan and his cohorts cannot declare the promise of God null and void. Witches and wizards can’t. They can make their enchantments but they cannot revoke the promise of God. They may cast spells and attempt to bewitch you in a bid to make you forsake the promise God made to you. But the promise of God for your life will surely come to pass if you cling onto it in faith and belief. Has God said a thing to you? Stand by it. Refuse to hear another word. Has God made a promise to you? Believe it. Snub anything to the contrary. Cling onto faith in Christ Jesus, for faith in Jesus Christ is a step to the realisation of the promise of God.

“O you poor and silly and thoughtless and unreflecting and senseless Galatians! Who has fascinated or bewitched or cast a spell over you, unto whom – right before your very eyes - Jesus Christ (the Messiah) was openly and graphically set forth and portrayed as crucified? Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the (Holy) Spirit as a result of obeying the Law and doing its works, or was it by hearing [the message of the Gospel] and believing [it]? [was it from observing a law of rituals or from a message of faith]?  Are you so foolish and so senseless and so silly? Having begun [your new life spiritually] with the [Holy] Spirit, are you now reaching perfection [by dependence] on the flesh? (Galatians 3:1-3).”

In Gal 3:1-3, Apostle Paul was reproving the Galatians for failing in their faith. They went back into a reliance on the law instead of faith in Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ is the ultimate objective of the promise of God. In other words, you who have heard God clearly, who cast a spell on you that you are now doubting God and lacking in faith?

The Law can’t

“You shall therefore keep My statutes and My ordinances which, if a man does, he shall live by them. I am the Lord (Leviticus 18:5).”

Even the law that requires perfect obedience as a standard of living cannot overrule the promise of God (Lev 18:5). Listen beloved, the promise God made to Abraham was not set aside by the law given to Moses. The inheritance God gave to Abraham was by a promise not according to the law. The promise still subsists because God never at any point in time withdrew His promise. This is because the promise was made to Abraham and his Seed. The Seed the scripture refers to here is Christ (Messiah). Though Abraham and the patriarchs are dead, the promise is still in force because Jesus Christ is immortal. He lives forever. As soon as you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour you become a child and inheritor of the promise; entitled to the favour of God. And once you receive and claim any promise of God in the name of Jesus Christ it subsists forever.

Again, if this promise to Abraham and his Seed is enough for salvation then why would you not believe God in other areas of your life? If the strict laws of God did not bar you from being saved why should any human law or bye law stop you from moving forward in life. Beloved, the divine grace of God is contained in the promise He made to you, not in any human law or the law enacted by the state through an act of parliament or a bye law set by an institution/company you are working for.

Stick to the promise of God

Is the law passed by the parliament in your country saying anything contrary to what God has promised you? Stick to the promise of God. Are the rules and regulations operating in your place of work opposing the promise of God for your life? Stick to the promise of God. Anything contravening the promise of God is meant for the trash bin. Amen! Beloved your inheritance (future, birthright, bequest, heritage, blessings, breakthroughs, etc) does not depend on you observing the bye laws made by the institution/company you are working for neither does it depend on the economic system of the World. There may be a threat to sack or retrench you but I tell you when it runs contrary to the promise of God for your life it will hit the rock. You are a child of promise! Praise the LORD!!
