Walking With God 2.

5 Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death; and he was not found, because God had translated him. For even before he was taken to heaven, he received testimony [still on record] that he had pleased and been satisfactory to God. (Hebrews 11:5)

Beloved what the above scripture is pointing out to you and me is that Enoch lived a righteous life, not self-righteousness, but a blameless and spotless life dictated by God Himself. It is uprightness in relationship with God. And because of this, he was transformed into a divine personality which death could not sting and taken to Heaven by God. He never saw death because the life he lived on Earth pleased God.

When I said in the last post that Enoch lived a very short life, I saw some people shout with a loud voice, ‘how can you say that somebody who lived 365 years lived a very short life’. Beloved it is not a matter of argument but don’t forget I said he lived a very short life relative to his contemporaries. However to contextualise your spiritual understanding I am going to bring your perception to our time.
Man was created as an immortal child of God until sin came followed by death (spiritual and physical). In spite of physical death man still lived long with the longest years of any man on Earth being 969. When God saw that the heart of man was full of evil he cut the longevity of man to 120 years. Consequently, God cut it further to 80 years through the revelation He disclosed to Moses His servant. In other words in our time, one who lives for 80 years is considered to have lived a long life.
What this simply means is that God changed the genetic makeup of mankind and brought their longevity down to 80 years as the upper capped limit or slightly more. Before this genetic change in mankind the gene of an 80 year old man was as lively as that of an 8 year old child. Amen!

Beloved to situate this message in its proper context, let us decimalise the years of Enoch’s contemporaries in order to bring it to our own times and years here on Earth. To do this we must divide their days and years by 10. Let us begin by dividing the 969 years old of Methuselah the oldest man who lived on Earth by 10. Doing this will mean counting off one nought (0) or zero from the right of 969 years or dividing 969 by 10 and we will be left with 96.9 years. In other words the oldest man in Enoch time lived for only approximately 97 years of our time. Doing the same to Enoch’s age will mean that Enoch lived for only 36.5 years which will bring his age in our time to the age bracket of Jesus Christ on Earth. Amen!

Beloved what does this mean for you and me? It is not the numbers of years you live on Earth that matter but whether the life you lived on Earth pleased God? What you achieved on Earth for God? What you did on Earth that made Heaven to erupt in joy and not the long years lived. You have seen that Enoch’s contemporaries lived for almost 90 years on average but they could not be remembered for anything except for the number of years they lived on Earth. God forbid that for you and me in the name of Jesus. Their so called achievements were vain, empty and obtained through wickedness in the eyes of God. In fact the bible tells us, they were wicked and the imagination of their heart was full of evil.

Beloved which testimonies are you receiving now about the way you live and conduct your life on Earth? Is it a testimony of oppression, wickedness, witchcraft, fornication, adultery, bribery, corruption, idolatry immorality and impropriety, etc. These are the life of the flesh and cannot please or satisfy God. The scripture warns us this way, “..., that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:21). Again note that only
“The memory of the righteous is blessed but the name of the wicked will rot”. Proverb 10:7 (KJV)
But the memory of Enoch who lived for only 36 years is and continues to be remembered from generation to generation because he walked with God - a monumental achievement in the sight of God. Similarly Jesus Christ lived for only 33 years on Earth - a very short life. Within these 33 years He reconciled you and me to God. He achieved salvation, healing, deliverance, and many more for you and me.
Beloved what will you be remembered for? Are you building a Godly legacy/monument like Enoch did or a generational curse like the men and women of Enoch’s times? Genesis 5:25-29 reveals this spiritual truth. Enoch was the great grandfather of Noah whom God describes as the only righteous man of His generation. The Bible tells us the following:
8 But Noah found grace (favour) in the eyes of the Lord. 9 This is the history of the generations of Noah. Noah was a just and righteous man, blameless in his [evil] generation; Noah walked [in habitual fellowship] with God.
This grace and generational blessing is transferable and attainable. We can assume it was passed from Enoch (365 years) to Methuselah (969 years), Lamech (777 years) and finally to Noah. This blessing flowed for a total of 2111 years to get to Noah. That is 2 Millennia, 1 Century, a decade and a year. That is a long time Beloved! God is faithful and kind to those that remain faithful to Him to a thousand generations.

Hashem [Jewish reverential name for God], passed before him and proclaimed: Hashem, Hashem Compassionate and Gracious, Slow to Anger, and Abundant in Kindness and Truth; Preserver of Kindness for thousands of generations, Forgiver of Iniquity, wilful sin and error and Who Cleanses ... (Exodus 34:6-7, Tanach, Hebrew bible).  This blessing passed down because Enoch taught his progeny the WORD and how to walk [in habitual fellowship] with God in the midst of an evil generation. The bible says, train a child in the way he should go and when he grows he shall not depart from it. Finally, what do you and your descendants want to be remembered for? God bless.
