I know my Redeemer lives (2)- Divine Ga'al or Gá el

When the first man and woman sinned against God and subsequently got chased out of the Garden of Eden, God set the process of redemption into motion. He told satan the architect of the fall that the seed of this woman would bruise his head (this represents Christ’s redemption, deliverance and victory). God was saying in essence that this woman’s seed will overturn the fall.

In your generations, many have come and gone assuming the role of your kinsman redeemer but have fallen short of God’s requirements. Although there are worthy examples throughout the bible (Boaz, Isaac, Moses etc.) who were foreshadows of Christ, they did not qualify to redeem all of mankind. This was simply because of sin. The sin of Adam was seen in them, for the scripture said, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). All sold themselves into the sin of slavery.
From the beginning, God set out to look for a man without sin. And because He could not find a man worthy of meeting the requirement of the law of redemption (Psalm 49:7-8), He sent His one and only Son Jesus Christ. He came and became your Divine Ga'al or Gá el. The scripture says in Colossians1:15,
15 [Now] He is the exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]; He is the Firstborn of all creation.

Remember there are 3 important criteria a kinsman-redeemer must possess. 1) Relation by blood. 2) Capacity to perform. 3) Willingness to perform. Jesus Christ met all these conditions being the firstborn of all creation. This means that He was the first to relate with/to you by blood. The capacity and willingness to submit to the will of God were also in Him which God found in no one else. His willingness to pay the price of redemption with His blood surpassed the desire of any other kinsman redeemer. Beloved the price that Jesus Christ paid for your redemption with his life and blood was a price too heavy to bear.

The scripture in Galatians 3:13, states what Jesus Christ did for you thus:
13 Christ purchased our freedom [redeeming us] from the curse (doom) of the Law [and its condemnation] by [Himself] becoming a curse for us, for it is written [in the Scriptures], Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree (is crucified);

He became a curse that you might be redeemed. A kinsman redeemer buys back the property of a debt-ridden relation who leased or sold his property on account of debt (Lev 25:25). He frees a close relative who sells himself into slavery as result of poverty (Lev 25:48).  You are His closest relative which is the reason the bible says He became poor that you might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). Jesus is alive and seated at the right hand of the Almighty God making intercession for you and me. As such, Jesus Christ is your present continuous Divine Gá el in the throne room of grace, giving divine direction to the saints, (Isaiah 48:1). He redeems us from woes (Exodus 6:6, Exodus 15:13, Psalm 72:2). He assuredly provides you and me with divine security (Psalm 78:35). He is your shield of protection and defence, your Sanctuary and a place of Safety for you as the redeemed of the Lord. He guides, guards and protects you from demonic and satanic attacks. Because He is alive, all fear is gone and you can face tomorrow. Divine assistance and help flow from Him (Isaiah 41:14). He supports and backs you. Because Jesus Christ is “the” eternal figure Head of the work of redemption, you are forgiven of all manners of past sins. Your sins are blotted out by the blood of Christ, when you repent and ask for forgiveness (Isaiah 44:22). He singled the redeemed like you out for greatness (Isaiah 49:7).  His mercy and favour abound for the righteous of the Lord (Isaiah 54:8).

Above all, He avenges for the blood of a murdered relative which is called gá el haddam. The blood of the martyrs who died for the sake of Heaven will never go in vain. He is the God of vengeance. He will surely avenge for them.
