VICTORY IS YOURS

Deuteronomy 20:16 AMP
But in the cities of these people which the LORD your GOD gives you for an inheritance you shall save alive nothing that breathes.
Joshua 11:1-12 AMP
When Jabin King of Hazor heard of this he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the kings of Shimron and Achshaph,

And to the kings who were in the north in the hill country and in Arabah south of Chinneroth and in the lowland and the heights of Dor on the west;
To the Canaanites in the east and west; to the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites in the hill country; and to the Hivites below [Mount] Hermon in the land Mizpah,
And they went out with all their host, much people, like the sand on the sea shore in number, with very many horses and chariots.
And all these kings met and came and encamped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
But the Lord said to Joshua, Do not be afraid because of them for tomorrow by this time I will give them up all slain to Israel; you shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.
So Joshua and all the people of war with him came against them suddenly by the waters of Merom and fell upon them.
And the LORD gave them into the hands of Israel, who smote them and chased them [towards] populous Sidon.
And Misrephoth-Maim, and eastward as far as the valley of Mizpah; they smote them until none remained and Joshua did to them as the LORD had commanded; he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire.
And Joshua at that time turned back and took Hazor and smote its king with the sword; for Hazor previously was the head of those kingdoms.
They smote all the people with the sword utterly destroying them; none were left alive, and he burned Hazor with fire.
And Joshua took all the cities of those kings and all the kings and smote them with the sword, utterly destroying them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

In the subsequent post we looked at "How to deal with the conspiracy of the kingdom of darkness". Today we are going to look at the same portion of scripture but examine it from a different perspective.

Let us look at the context of the above scripture to make our understanding clearer. Joshua was on a military campaign and he had just conquered the neighbouring kingdoms of Amorites (Kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon); fear gripped Hazor and the other surrounding kingdoms.

To cut a long story short, Jabin heard of the military conquest of Joshua’s and sensing that Hazor, his kingdom is the next in line to fall He decided to act quick and promptly too. Jabin being a tactician called a special meeting to pre-empt Joshua’s attack. The bible tells us that the enemy of Israel went out with their entire host [army including horses, chariots from the entire kingdom].
This is a tactic the enemy often uses. He sometimes tries to intimidate believers by creating seemingly impossible situations. The gathering of the kings in Merom was a show of strength, and I am sure it must have been intimidating to see.

What situation are you faced with, which in the natural may look like, if anything goes wrong, this can be a disaster. Is it financial or reputational? Whatever it may be, I want you to remember something; that God is not fazed by the size of the challenger {or challenges before you}. In fact He works best when the odds are stacked against you. Look at the case of Gideon (see our archives on the “Sword of the LORD”) ,David and Goliath just to name a few.
Even though the enemy believed that they had the situation under control and they were going to “deal with” Israel, little did they know that they were being set up for total destruction! Whatever is facing you today, I want you to know that it is a set up to destroy stubborn enemies from your life.
You need to change your mind set about the enemy and his ability to hurt you. When you meditate on the fact that God has promised to NEVER leave you or forsake you; faith will rise in you. Joshua had that assurance and that is what allowed him to challenge the enemy.
When David was faced with fighting Goliath the bible tells us he did two things. Firstly when Goliath was spewing his threats David did not keep quiet he spoke back to the enemy. You need to speak back to the situation and command its destruction. Secondly, David told Goliath how he was going to die by the hand of God. I want you to understand that Goliath was:

1.   A giant.

2.   Cursed David by his gods. So he was invoking satanic spirits (1 Sam 17:43b AMP).

3.   Had three types of weapons (sword, a spear and a javelin (1 Sam 17:45 AMP),”

What did David do?
When the Philistine came forward to meet David, David ran quickly towards the battle line. [1 Samuel 17:48]

What did Joshua do?
So Joshua and all the people of war with him came against them suddenly by the waters of Merom where the enemies had assembled and fell upon them.

Do you see a pattern? They both trusted in God and gave the battle over to God. What does this mean? It does not mean when you give the battle to God you do nothing. It means you use the spiritual weaponry at your disposal through prayer. The bible tells us that the weapons of our warfare are MIGHTY IN GOD FOR THE PULLING DOWN OF STRONGHOLDS. You need to become a person of war [in the spirit realm]. But realise that if your attack is not centred on God you will not prevail. If you know your God and rely on your God this will be your testimony.

And the LORD gave them into the hands of Israel.
God will empower your prayer life to utterly defeat the attack of the enemy and destroy it completely.

CONFESSION
Father in the name of our lord Jesus Christ I come against every congregation of the wicked against my life and destiny. In any form or manner they gathered let them scatter by fire. I raise my holy hands to the high Heaven and call upon the hosts of heaven to my assistance and command them to vanquish and destroy the enemies that assembled against me in Jesus name.

I refuse to be a casualty of spiritual warfare. I set ablaze the strongholds and fortresses of the enemies of my life and destiny; and I command them to burn to ashes in Jesus name. I command utter destruction to the giants and the host of wickedness.

I decree and declare my victory over this challenge, problem, trouble and evil in Jesus name. I am more than a conqueror! I confess with my mouth that shame and reproach is not my portion. I am a winner in Jesus mighty name I pray Amen!
