PRACTICAL WAYS OF MAKING PERSONAL PROPHECY

God is a very practical God and therefore has made a way of escape for us from the attack of the enemy. He made provision for overcoming challenges and obstacles before us. Today we will focus on the need for blessings or prosperity which is an area that poses as a challenge to many believers.

The Need for Blessings or prosperity

To get blessings we need to look at the pattern of God from the scriptures. He tells us in (Luke 6:38)

38Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.

And also in 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 (AMP), 6[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings. 7Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].

To obtain blessing or prosperity, you have to follow the basic principle stated here in the scripture which is in the word GIVE or SOW. You must give to receive. You must sow to reap. When you give what you receive in return is overflowing breakthrough. However you don’t just give for sake of giving or sow for sake of sowing but always go to the scripture which commanded that you should give or sow and challenge God with His word. That is prophecy. Prophesy His words and promises upon your life. Child of God let every of your gifts, offerings or donations to church, charitable works or philanthropic activities be based on the word and promise of God. Tie it to God’s spoken words. When you do this, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 9:10, God who provide the seed you sow will increase and multiply the resources so that you will continue in active good work of kindness and charity.

Let us look at another portion of the scripture about prosperity:

9You are familiar with the generosity of our Master, Jesus Christ. Rich as he was, he gave it all away for us—in one stroke he became poor and we became rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9 (MSG)

The key to your prosperity here is in the statement, “He became poor that you might be rich.” It means you have no business being poor because poverty was nailed to death on the cross of Calvary. It means Christ overcame poverty and its associates for you. The moment you have this understanding you are on your way out of poverty. To practicalize it, is to call on Jesus Christ Himself, call on His Holy name to remove poverty from your life with the above scripture before you. Confess the scripture over your situations and circumstances. Keep repeating it (mind you this is not vain repetition). He will honour His Name and lift poverty out of your life.

Another scripture you can use to tackle the problem challenging you in life such as poverty is:

A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. John 10:10 (MSG).

Here the scripture is opening your understanding to the fact there is a thief or marauder who goes about stealing, killing and destroying lives and property. And there is the Son of God whose will is for you to have abundant, real and eternal life. To use this scripture is to first bind and cast away the marauder. Call on God and His Holy angels to have him arrested, bound and paralyzed over the affairs and activities of your life and destiny. Then call on Jesus Christ the Son of God to restore or give you abundant and real life. Call on Him to take you to the next level of your life.

Keep doing it regularly and daily. It is prophecy, it will come to pass. The expected change will manifest in due course in your life. Don’t stop, don’t apply break. God bless you.
