Remember that only humans can inherit salvation, not angels. As you can see from the scripture above, angels are assigned the duty of assisting believers on the planet to fulfil their destiny in Christ. Rather worship the creator and not the created being. It as senseless as someone carving out an idol and then worshiping it; with the hopes that it will help them. Since we have established the role God has ordained for angels in our Christian walk, let us see how capable they are?
God's Angels excel in might and strength
“Whereas [even] angels, though superior in might and power, do not bring a defaming charge against them before the Lord,” 2 Peter 2:11 AMP.
I will detail some of the feats of might that they are able to perform. One angel can hold back a tornado. “AFTER THIS I saw four angels stationed at the four corners of the earth, firmly holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind should blow on the earth or sea or upon any tree,” Revelation 7:1 AMP.
According to Wikipedia, the fastest ever recorded tornado was going at 484 km/h [301mph] near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on May 3, 1999. You start to get a sense of how powerful these beings are. They [angels] can also carry great weights.
“Then a single powerful angel took up a boulder like a great millstone and flung it into the sea, crying, With such violence shall Babylon the great city be hurled down to destruction and shall never again be found” Revelation 18:21 AMP. To put that into perspective, an 18th century millstones weighed between 2.3 to 3.5 tons.
THE ANGEL OF THE LORD
God assigned one angel to look after and protect in excess of 2 million people when the children of Israel left Egypt. “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep and guard you on the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared,” Exodus 23:20 AMP. He was also tasked with driving out 6 nations single handedly. “I will send an Angel before you, and I will drive out the Canaanite, Amorite, Hittite, Perizzite, Hivite, and Jebusite,” Exodus 33:2 AMP.
The following verse gives us an indication of what one angel of God can do in battle;
That night the angel of the LORD went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. When the surviving Assyrians woke up the next morning, they found corpses everywhere, 2 Kings 19:35 NLT.
God gives his angels the ability to perform wonders as seen in Judges 6:21 AMP, “Then the Angel of the Lord reached out the tip of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened cakes, and there flared up fire from the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened cakes. Then the Angel of the Lord vanished from his sight. In another instance, “For when the flame went up toward the heavens from the altar, the Angel of the Lord ascended in the altar flame. And Manoah and his wife looked on, and they fell on their faces to the ground,” Judges 13:20 AMP.
God assigns angels that bring healing, “For an angel of the Lord went down at appointed seasons into the pool and moved and stirred up the water; whoever then first, after the stirring up of the water, stepped in was cured of whatever disease with which he was afflicted, John 5:4 AMP.
The appointment is decided on by Father God, not the angel. Remember it is God that commands the angels. That is why we must follow heavenly protocol when we pray. To get to the Father we must go through the right channels, Jesus and only Jesus. No man, woman, angel or demon can ever usurp this position that Christ occupies. He (Christ) is our intermediary and advocate. He has the authority and know-how to be one. So always pray in the name of Jesus.
Similarly, we are not to pray to angels to give us this healing. Please make the distinction between praying for and praying to. We always pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, period! You can petition the Father to release His angels of healing.
The angelic realm is ordered according to rank within a kingdom setup. Ephesians is full of insight in terms of these various ranks.
[The purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere, Ephesians 3:10 AMP.
In closing the only thing you need to remember with reverence and humility, is that because of the finished work of the cross you have been placed above these angelic rulership. Isn’t God awesome? God bless.
